Portobello Market

Last Saturday, I headed over to one of London's most popular antique-y tourist-y market, called Portobello Market. It is HUGE, and spans the entire stretch of Portobello Road on the weekends. It's so crammed with people it takes hours to just move along the one road. However, it does have some pretty awesome shtuff. This first picture below is from  the 1 pound store (we don't have them in Chelsea, snobs) and it advises us to be aware, that Hugger Muggers do tend to operate in this area. :)
It was too funny not to snapshot.

Along with really fun market stands, the market is also lined with retail businesses, some chains, some boutiques. It is a really big tourist attraction, so people want to capitalize on anything they can. Below is a shot from an All Saints store, an incredibly expensive chain store, who uses vintage sewing machines for their store display. I have literally seen 20+ All Saints stores whiles I've been here, and every single one has sewing machines. They must break the record for owning the most antique sewing machines in the world. In this ONE All Saints store, there are hundreds of machines lining the windows.

SERIOUSLY. They are all real too. Not re-creations!

British patriotism.

Cute house!

More fun window displays!

After a long day at the market, I decided to make my day even longer by going out that night! But it was super fun. Elyse, Anna and I went back to Camden, to the Electric Ballroom, a HUGE club. It was the biggest place I'd ever seen, and you could not tell this from the outside. Two (or was it three?) levels of awesome music. They played everything. The pictures below are the aftermath of the night, riding a packed bus at 4 am. So tired.

Anna!

Classic slop.

oh hi.

Nope, still tired.
