Parliament + PLASTIC PEOPLE

Helllooo! I have much to update, but it will be coming in parts, since I have to finish a paper worth 50% of my grade! Yikes! It is raining today, the first time in a while, well except for yesterday.
It's a nice heavy rain that doesn't make you feel bad that you are sitting in your dorm all day reading and writing a paper. Speaking of yesterday, a couple of gals and I went to visit Parliament and its Houses! What a silly confusing system they have. Even with the dumbed down version our fantastically British tour guide gave us, I still am at a loss as to how this government gets anything done, or further how it gets anything the PEOPLE want done. It seemed to me that the House of Lords, the non-people-elected House and the Crown pretty much hold all the power, not to mention the coolest rooms in all of Parliament. I swear, the rooms for the House of Lords vs. the House of Commons was practically night and day. The Lords had vibrant painting and gold-leafed everything, while the Commons had
stone floor to ceiling and dark wood. The House of Common was so much more, common!

After standing in the rain for two hours waiting in line for the Houses of Parliament, we decided we would just lay low for the rest of the day until we went out to PLASTIC PEOPLE later that night!
PLASTIC PEOPLE is a dubstep club (dubstep is a type of music that mixes Jamaican reggae, American hip-hop, and European techno beats together) in Shoreditch, one of the hip young towns that take forever to get to from Chelsea, since we live in rich old people town. (Seriously, whenever someone asks where we are living, and we respond with Chelsea, their reaction is either  awe, "oh my...., or snotty "ohh you live in Chellllseaaaaa.....") Anyways, the cover for PP was outrageous, but the music was out of this world! Drinks weren't too bad, and you didn't feel constantly creeped on my sketchy guys because everyone was there for the music. It was an amazing experience. The music was so loud and the bass was so deep you couldn't feel or hear anything but the music. There was incense smoking the whole night, and the DJ's were just phenomenal. I had THE BEST time. However, trying to find an imaginary bus stop at 4 am in Shoreditch is not easy. But we did it!

Only two more weeks!
